Etienne Schneider joins the Board of Directors of BESIX Group

BESIX Group is particularly pleased to announce the appointment of Etienne Schneider to its Board of Directors as Independent Director. Etienne Schneider succeeds Jean Stéphenne in this role.

Etienne Schneider had a brilliant career in the successive governments of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg from 2012 to 2020 and has made significant contribution to the Duchy during his various tenures.

In particular, he was Deputy Prime Minister from 2013 to 2020 and Minister for the Economy from 2012 to 2020. Etienne Schneider retired from Luxembourg's political life in February 2020.

His extensive experience will contribute to the further growth of BESIX Group as he brings both deep financial expertise and a strong vision of innovation and leadership.

Trained as an economist (ICHEC, Brussels and Greenwich University, London), Etienne Schneider is also a member of the Board of Directors of ArcelorMittal and Sistema.

BESIX Group would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to Jean Stéphenne for his commitment to the Group since 2004. He has been a major figure in the growth of BESIX Group over the last 15 years, in particular as Chairman of the Board of Directors, a position he held until 2017 when he handed over to Johan Beerlandt. His strategic vision, his curiosity for innovation and his human qualities have profoundly influenced the Group's trajectory and success over these years.
