The new headquarters of BNP Paribas Fortis, built by BESIX and Eiffage in Brussels, has been awarded the first price in the category ‘Best Office and Business Development’ during the MIPIM Awards 2022 in Cannes, France. This worldwide event recognizes the most outstanding and accomplished projects in the real estate industry.
The new headquarters of BNP Paribas Fortis covers an area of over 100,000m² and was delivered by BESIX and Eiffage in November 2021. Located in the historic centre of the European capital, the building's remarkable architecture is the result of a collaboration between the architects Baumschlager Eberle Architekten, Styfhals & Partners, and Jasper-Eyers.
Mark Beyst, General Manager of BESIX Belgium-Luxembourg: “The new headquarters of BNP Paribas Fortis fully deserves the prestigious award it received at MIPIM. It is an example for Brussels, but also for all major European cities and beyond, of a building that combines magnificent architecture, great attention to sustainability, and real comfort for users. BESIX is very proud to have participated in its construction. We take this opportunity to thank our client and all our partners.”
The building combines this architecture with first-class environmental qualities. With solar panels on the roof and a seasonal thermal energy storage (STES), the building is certified BREEAM ‘Excellent’ and ‘Passive House’.
