Jubilee Place

Australia’s tallest diagrid building
BESIX Watpac has constructed Australia's tallest diagrid building, Jubilee Place. The strong yet lightweight exoskeleton diverts weight to the building's extremities and protects the Clem 7 tunnel, located just 11 metres below the building.

Engineering

The complex 14-storey structure, built on a highly constrained site during a global pandemic, presented a significant engineering challenge. Built by BESIX Watpac's experienced Queensland teams and supported by its in-house engineering services, the project required a high level of collaboration with local contractors, Blight Rayner Architecture, Floth and Robert Bird Group engineers.

Safety

The exceptional safety standards and collaboration on site were one of the many successes of this project. Throughout construction, the project maintained the BESIX Watpac safety record of zero lost time injuries. To achieve this, the team carried out over 600 safety inspections on site.
